Insurance Coverage for Addiction Treatment
Insurance Verification for Rehabilitation
Many health plans provide insurance coverage for addiction treatment and substance abuse programs. Different factors may affect the level of coverage you have for treatment, what the out-of-pocket expenses may be, and what kind of inpatient or outpatient program your policy may cover.
At OutpatientCenters.org, a professional admissions counselor is available 24 hours a day to answer your questions, verify your coverage, and find a suitable treatment program for you or someone you love. Exploring drug and alcohol rehabilitation options through your insurance provider can be an overwhelming task, but we help make the process simple and convenient with just one phone call.

What is the Parity Act?
The Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008 (MHPAEA) requires that group health plans and insurance providers apply the same financial requirements for addiction and mental health treatment as would be applied to virtually all other medical or surgical benefits.1
Individuals who receive health insurance from their employers are eligible for equal coverage to treat substance abuse as they would treat traditional injuries, illness, or disease.
Why is it important?
The Parity Act requires equal coverage from insurance providers for addiction treatment, eliminating restrictions on factors such as length and frequency of treatment. Among the guidelines, the Parity act states that deductibles, limitations of benefits, and out-of-pocket costs be treated equally for mental health as they would be treated for physical health.
